HOUSTON – Rapper by the name Takeoff, a member of the popular Georgia group Migos, is pronounced dead in a early morning following a shooting at a Houston bowling alley. He was 28 years old. ?
Police responded shortly after 2:30 a.m. to reports of a shooting at 810 Billiards & Bowling, where dozens of people had gathered on a balcony outside of the bowling alley, which is on the third floor, police said. Officers discovered one man dead when they arrived.
It was reported by a police spokesman, that security guards who were in the area heard the shooting but did not see who did it.
The entire music world woke up with the sad news that rapper Takeoff was shot dead in Houston during Halloween night. Initially, there were no other reports of how the event happened but we got some interesting details. There were witnesses who saw the entire exchange and confirm that ‘The Migos‘ were at a bowling alley in Downtown Houston.
A Twitter account by the name of Say Cheese were the first ones who reported the rapper’s death, they were the ones that gotthe most detailed information of the incident. According to witnesses in the area, Takeoff was shot once in the neck and another one in the head. They were all playing a game of dice when partner Quavo got heated up against the wrong people. However, there is a report that turns the entire scenario on its head.
Update: Takeoff was possibly shot by one of his own friends
While the incident escalated with Quavo right at the center of it, Takeoff was believed to be the most relaxed in the crowd. One of Quavo’s friends was the first one who started shooting and the first bullet hit Takeoff, droppinghim instantly on the floor. More shots were fired right after that but witnesses at the scene believe Takeoff was killed by the first shot from one of his crew members.
Quavo is believed to be alive and wasn’t shot but he was right in the middle of the incident. In short, Takeoff was possibly shot and killed by accident. None of these reports have been confirmed by the rest of the press, they are only being treated as rumors but there is text and image evidence of the incident.

According to the crew at The Breakfast Club, the local Houston PD reported there is footage of the incident but they won’t release it to the public until more information has been made official. They shared a voice message from one of the officers and confirmed that the diseased was shot once on the neck and once on the head. They didn’t say it was Takeoff but other reports confirmed it was him.
It was said that there was about 40 to 50 people that were around at the bowling alley during the time of the shooting. It was also reported that at least two others have been injured in the shooting and have been transported to local hospital. Their condition is unknown at the time of this new news.
Hours before the shooting, Takeoff shared a photo on his Instagram story of himself at the bowling alley. He had just released the music video for his new song “Messy” the day before.

Footage obtained by TMZ shows Quavo, another former member of Migos, yelling for help after the shooting.
The trio was made up of TakeOff, his uncle, Quavo, and cousin Offset. The group was formed in 2008 in Georgia. They began their rise to fame with the viral hit “Versace,” which reached 99 on the Billboard charts. Canadian rapper Drake would drop a verse on the “Versace” remix, which furthered Migos’ exposure.

Their 2013 song “Versace,” blew them up to be stars and the group dominated on the pop and rap charts, as well as streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, with songs like “Bad and Boujee,” ″MotorSport,” ″Stir Fry” and “Walk It Talk It.” Their albums — “Culture” and “Culture II” — reached platinum status and each hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
They also played a fictional version of themselves on an episode of the hit TV show “Atlanta.”
Offset, who is married to Cardi B, released a solo album in 2019, while Takeoff and Quavo released a joint album “Only Built for Infinity Links” last month.
